«La leyenda del lagarto de Jaén» is a children's story by Lorena Marín, published by Susaeta in hardcover (32 pages, in Spanish).
A dragon terrorized Jaén and devoured those who sought water at the Malena spring. Carlos discovers this legend, which turns the lizard into a symbol of the city: the silhouette of the capital resembles a coiled lizard, and the cathedral displays a dragon on its coat of arms. There are at least three versions; this is one of them.
This title belongs to the Andalusian Legends collection and features illustrations by Eva María Gey. Published in 2015.
For children and young readers aged 8 and up, especially those who enjoy Andalusian legends and traditions.
