«La liebre y la tortuga» is the classic children's fable from the Cometa Roja collection, published by Editorial Everest in paperback (16 pages, in Spanish).
Rosita the hare boasts of being the fastest and mocks the tortoise doña Cachaza, whom everyone sees as slow and clumsy. One day she challenges her to a race before the other animals and gives her a head start. To everyone's surprise, the tortoise's constancy and effort show that pride can lead to a great disappointment.
Published in 1997, it belongs to the Cometa Roja collection in its sixth edition and features illustrations by Belén Eizaguirre Alvear, Juan Pablo Navas Rosco and María Isabel Nadal Romero.
Story with recommended reading age of 6 to 10 years, aimed at children starting to read and those who enjoy classic fables.
