«La lucha por la vida» is the novel trilogy by Pío Baroja, published by El Mundo in 2001 in hardcover and in Spanish.
The trilogy follows Manuel Alcázar from his arrival in Madrid and shows his progressive integration into society: first as a worker and then as an industrialist. Each volume —«La busca», «Mala hierba» and «Aurora roja»— corresponds to one of the stages of that evolution.
The boxed edition brings together the three volumes and was published in the Biblioteca El Mundo, with a prologue by Ricardo Senabre.

Pío Baroja y Nessi was a Spanish writer, one of the key novelists of the Generation of '98. He was a member of an illustrious family. His brother Ricardo was a painter, writer and engraver, and his nephew Julio Caro Baroja, son of his younger sister Carmen who was a goldsmith, was a well-known anthropologist.
