«La Maixa i l'os» is the children's picture book by Lari Don, published by Editorial Vicens Vives in paperback (48 pages, in Catalan).
Little Maixa lives with her parents and seven siblings in a house at the edge of the forest. One day, while looking for cherries, she wanders too far and gets lost. A huge bear finds her and keeps her to make fruit pies for him. Maixa will have to use her wits to trick him and return to her family.
It is part of the «Un Món de Contes» collection from VVKids and adapts a traditional Russian tale; it includes illustrations by Melanie Williamson.
Recommended for early readers aged 6 and up and for use in the primary classroom.
