La marieta

Synopsis of La marieta

«La marieta» (the fierce ladybug of the garden) is the children's picture book by Valérie Tracqui, published by Cruïlla in hardcover (32 pages, in Catalan).

A ladybug travels through the garden flowers eating aphids: the book explains how this insect lives, what it eats and what it does, as effective against pests as an insecticide but far less dangerous. The photographs and animal silhouettes accompany this introduction to the natural world.

Published in 2007 by Cruïlla in Catalan, translated by Gustau Raluy i Bruguera; the original is French. Recommended reading age: from 4 years.

For early readers curious about animals and nature, especially interested in insects and garden life.
