«La màscara taronja» is the children's mystery and detective book by Ursel Scheffler, published by Edicions del Pirata in paperback (136 pages, in Catalan).
Each chapter is a case for Inspector Llampec: a robbery with an orange mask, a jam that becomes a clue, a ghost that leaves business cards, or a theft of tin Roman soldiers. At the end, a question challenges the reader; the solution, written backwards inside a magnifying glass, can be read in a mirror, against the light, or by reading it inverted.
Second title in the Comissari Llampec collection. Catalan translation of «Die orangefarbene Maske», original work in German; 2007 edition illustrated by Hannes Gerber.
Recommended for readers aged 8 and up, especially for those less keen on reading, thanks to its short cases and the magnifying glass game.
