«La mecànica del cor» is the fantasy and romance novel by Mathias Malzieu, published by Reservoir Books in paperback (176 pages, in Catalan).
On the coldest night in history, in Edinburgh, Jack is born with a damaged heart and is fitted with a wooden clock that keeps him alive. His survival depends on three rules: never touch the hands, master his anger, and never fall in love. Despite this, Jack embarks on a quixotic journey from Scotland to an Andalusian city in search of love, in a poetic tale for adults that evokes the gothic imagination of Tim Burton and Lewis Carroll.
A 176-page novel in Catalan published on December 2, 2009, in the Reservoir Narrativa collection. Original work in French, translated by Silvia Alemany Vilalta.
Mathias Malzieu is a French singer, co-founder of the band Dionysos, as well as a scriptwriter, film director and writer.
