«La memoria de las hormigas» is the novel by Iolanda Batallé published by Gadir in 2011, with 347 pages in Spanish.
Joana has stopped chasing success and cleans the beach with a tractor; as the machine traces drawings in the sand, she magically relives her past. We thus learn of her amorous initiation, her relationship with her grandmother and teacher, her conversations with her husband, and the strange lives of those around her. These are scraps of an existence full of small fables, like the ants that carry home whatever they find along the way.
Edition from the Pequeña Biblioteca Gadir collection, with an afterword by Antonio Ferres.
