«La muerte viene de lejos» is the mystery novel by José María Guelbenzu, published by Punto de Lectura in hardcover (336 pages, in Spanish).
A miser is found dead from gas fumes and the case is closed as an accident. Two years later, Carmen, former court clerk to Judge Mariana de Marco, urges her to reopen it: she is sure it was murder. The judge finds no grounds, but an encounter with the deceased's nephew, whom Carmen accuses, sparks her interest.
Second installment of the Mariana de Marco series. This edition is from 2008 and includes an interview with the author.
For readers of crime and mystery fiction who enjoy judicial investigations and suspenseful twists.
