«La Mula Pirula» is the children's story by Beatriz Doumerc, published by Círculo De Lectores in paperback (24 pages, in Spanish).
A children's story that invites the little ones to play with the letter 'u' through the tale of the mule Pirula. The narrative incorporates words with that vowel, and the illustrations, such as the mule peeking out of an open box, reinforce the game of recognizing the u. It is a short book designed to make learning the letter fun.
Part of the 'El zoo de las letras' collection; the work's subtitle is 'juega con la u'. Published in June 2004.
Recommended for preschool children and early readers who are beginning to recognize vowels.
Beatriz Doumerc de Barnes was an Argentine writer of children's literature. Her book, La línea, illustrated by her husband, Ayax "Pacho" Barnes, was awarded the Casa de las Américas Prize in 1975.
