«La naissance des dieux et du monde» is Luc Ferry's essay on mythology and philosophy, in hardcover with audio CD (95 pages, in French).
The book starts from Hesiod's Theogony, a poem from the 7th century BC and the main source of Greek mythology, to narrate the passage from chaos to harmony: from the war among the gods to the establishment by Zeus of a just, beautiful and good cosmic order. In that order, humans find the meaning of their lives by harmonizing with the world.
Third volume of the collection «Mythologie & philosophie», dedicated to the great Greek myths. Published by Coédition Le Figaro/Plon in 2015.
For readers interested in mythology and philosophy who prefer a popularizing approach to the great Greek myths.
Luc Ferry is a French public intellectual and voluminous author, who is a proponent of secular humanism. He was Minister of National Education for two years during the presidency of Jacques Chirac.
