«La novia gitana» is the crime novel by Carmen Mola, published by Alfaguara in paperback (408 pages, in Spanish).
Inspector Elena Blanco investigates in Madrid the death of Susana Macaya, a Gypsy raised as a non-Gypsy, who disappeared after her bachelorette party and was found tortured. The case reproduces the ritual of her sister Lara's murder seven years earlier, with a convict in prison: imitation or an innocent jailed. The investigation takes her into the Gypsy community and its contradictions.
First installment of the Inspector Elena Blanco series, published in the Alfaguara Negra collection. Carmen Mola is the pseudonym of three authors.
For readers of crime fiction and thrillers aged 16 and over.
