«La piedra en el corazón» is the novel by Luis Mateo Díez, published by Galaxia Gutenberg and Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (280 pages, in Spanish).
Set in Madrid, the story combines the shock of the March 11, 2004 bombing with the crisis of a family whose daughter, Nima, is ill. The voices of Nima and her parents build a narrative about love that cannot be fulfilled, helplessness before pain, and the father's quiet fortitude.
The work, published in 2006 by Galaxia Gutenberg and Círculo de Lectores, belongs to the Narrativa collection; its subtitle is «Cuaderno de un día de marzo».
