«La pirámide» is the collection of five detective stories by Henning Mankell, published by Quinteto in paperback (525 pages, in Spanish).
The five stories follow Kurt Wallander in his years before the novel series, between 1969 and 1989, when he is still an ambitious young officer and has not yet joined Homicide. An apparent suicide, a kidnapping by a South African exile, and the rescue of his father in Cairo are some of the episodes that mark his evolution towards the established inspector.
The work is the ninth installment of the Kurt Wallander series and appeared in the Quinteto collection (no. 217); translation from Swedish by Carmen Montes Cano. Original title: Pyramiden.
For readers of Nordic crime fiction who want to learn about Wallander's origins and for those who prefer short detective stories.
