«La plaga» is the historical novel by Ann Benson, published by Debolsillo in paperback (749 pages, in Spanish).
A dual-plot novel alternating two eras: in the 14th century, physician Alejandro Canches flees justice after performing an autopsy and travels through a Europe ravaged by the Black Death; in the 21st century, the reappearance of bubonic plague alerts the modern world and raises the question of whether science can stop the ancient disease.
First installment of the «The Plague Tales» series; the original edition was published in 1997 and the translation is by Jofre Homedes.
For readers of historical fiction and medical suspense who enjoy intertwined dual-era plots.
