«La posada del Arenal» is the play by Eduardo Galán and Javier Garcimartín, published by Fundación SGAE in paperback (97 pages, in Spanish).
A modern comedy of humor set in 1622 Madrid, with characters from the golden age of Spanish theater: servants, miserly old men, braggarts, students and wanderers. Disguises, misunderstandings and double meanings combine in a homage to Lope's comedy that aims to make people laugh.
Published in 1994 in the Teatro collection (no. 44) of the Sociedad General de Autores de España.
For theater and Golden Age comedy fans, including students wanting a contemporary approach to Lope's comedy.
