«La ratita presumida» is the children's story by Bel Olid Baez, with illustrations by Mercè Canals, published by Combel Editorial in paperback (16 pages, in Spanish).
The vain, very tidy little mouse sweeps the stairs of her house until she finds a coin and wonders what she will do with it. A donkey who sees how pretty she is tries to court her, but she rejects him for his not-at-all-beautiful voice. The story leaves it in the air whether the little mouse will make a good decision and what will happen next.
Ninth title in the «¡Qué te cuento!» collection, published in 2019 and with illustrations by Mercè Canals.
For children aged 3 to 8, suitable for reading aloud with family or at school and as a first approach to classic tales.
