«La rebelión de los rábanos» is the novel by Javier Tomeo, published by Destino in paperback (165 pages, in Spanish).
The vegetables in a pantry decide to imitate those who have proclaimed their independence and create their own state. Gathered in the owners' absence, each proposes a recipe as a flag or constitution, a symbol of its identity. The agreement becomes complicated when the peas declare themselves in dissent.
Work awarded the Sent Soví Prize 1998 and published in the Áncora y Delfín collection by Ediciones Destino.
Aimed at the general public, especially those who enjoy contemporary fiction and social satires.
Javier Tomeo was a Spanish (Aragonese) essayist, dramatist, and novelist.
