«La Reina de los Monos» is the children's story by Anna Manso, illustrated by África Fanlo, published by Intermón Oxfam in hardcover (42 pages, in Spanish).
In Sri Lanka, people, apes and monkeys coexist. A boy and a girl befriend Raja, a monkey, and have adventures. Includes facts about Sri Lanka and a recipe. The story arose after the 2004 tsunami; África Fanlo asked Anna Manso to turn her memories of the island into a tale, and its proceeds go to development projects.
Part of the Sueños collection by Intermón Oxfam. Recommended reading age: 5 to 6 years. Published in 2007.
For early readers curious about other cultures and for families seeking a story with a charitable background.
