«La Reina muy de cerca» is the book-length interview by Pilar Urbano with Queen Sofía, published by Editorial Planeta in hardcover (350 pages, in Spanish).
Journalist Pilar Urbano returns to the Zarzuela Palace thirteen years after her previous book to talk with Queen Sofía about the major public and family events of the Spanish monarchy. The Queen speaks in the first person and answers direct questions without beating around the bush, on the instant attraction between Prince Felipe and Letizia, the role of Infanta Leonor, the possible abdication of the King, or controversial issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage, and she also confesses her small everyday weaknesses.
Non-fiction work by journalist Pilar Urbano (Valencia, 1940), author of numerous investigative books and interviews. It is related to her earlier work «La Reina» and was originally published in 2008.
For readers interested in the Spanish monarchy, current affairs of the period, and in-depth journalistic interviews.
