«La Santa» is the psychological horror novel by Mado Martínez, published by Algaida Editores in hardcover (384 pages, in Spanish).
At the Rosas del Cares boarding school, nicknamed Manderley, the disappearance of several students revives the secret left by the death of its founder, Rebeca de las Nieves. Amid the snow of the Picos de Europa, locals evoke the Güestía, the Santa Compaña, in a psychological horror plot inspired by Victorian fantasy.
Winner of the XIX Ateneo Joven de Sevilla Prize, it was published in 2014 within the Algaida Literaria collection.
Readers of horror and supernatural suspense novels, interested in the Santa Compaña tradition and Victorian Gothic.
