«La Selva» is the children's book by Equipo Susaeta in the Leo y Veo collection, published by Tikal-Susaeta in hardcover (24 pages, in Spanish).
The lion takes the floor and introduces himself: all the animals call him king of the jungle, although he wears no crown, and he describes his long mane and sharp claws. He lives with his family, rests in the trees and protects himself from insects. The narrative, with large handwritten typography, uses pictograms to complete the sentences, and a dictionary allows readers to look up the meaning of each symbol.
The illustrations are by Javier Inaraja. The first edition was published on April 25, 2000.
Designed to accompany early readers aged 6 and up: the visual support and simple sentences allow them to take their first steps in reading.
