«La senyora dels llibres» is the children's picture book by Tracey Henson and David Small, published by Editorial Juventud in hardcover (40 pages, in Catalan).
The story is based on the true history of the Horseback Librarians, a 1930s program that distributed books across the mountains of Kentucky, in the Appalachians, where there were barely any schools or libraries. The women of the project traveled every two weeks on horseback or mule along steep trails, loaded with reading material and regardless of the weather.
First edition published on April 1, 2010, in a 26 x 21 cm format.
Recommended for children from 8 years old, especially for those who enjoy true stories about books and libraries.
