«La sombra de Poe» is the historical mystery novel by Matthew Pearl, published by Booket in paperback (464 pages, in Spanish).
Baltimore, 1849. After Edgar Allan Poe's burial in an unmarked grave, his admirer Quentin Clark investigates the writer's final days. Following the clues in his stories, he seeks the real person who inspired the detective C. Auguste Dupin; the inquiry brings him up against another brilliant mind who also claims that legacy.
The novel was originally published in English as The Poe Shadow in 2006. This Spanish edition, in Booket's Bestseller collection, uses the translation by Vicente Villacampa.
Ideal for those who enjoyed El club Dante, by the same author, and for readers of historical thrillers set in the nineteenth century.
