«La sombra del deseo» is the contemporary fiction novel by British writer Simon Beckett, published by Planeta in hardcover (270 pages, in Spanish).
Donald, a sixty-year-old art dealer, has carried since his youth a frustrating experience with a prostitute; since then, sex only interests him as an artistic matter, and his great hobby is collecting erotic paintings. The novel delves into an obsession that turns desire into a contemplated object and into the shadows that this gaze projects.
Work translated by Anna Plata from the original novel «Fine lines». It belongs to Planeta's Bestseller Mundial Collection, no. 244.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in unsettling atmospheres and stories that explore obsession and desire.
