In 'The Sum of Our Days,' Isabel Allende candidly narrates the recent history of her life and that of her peculiar family in California. In an open house, full of people and literary characters, and protected by a spirit, Allende shares lost daughters, grandchildren, books being born, successes, and sorrows. A journey into the world of addictions and others to remote places in the world in search of inspiration, along with divorces, encounters, loves, separations, couple crises, and reconciliations. It is also a love story between a mature man and woman, who have overcome many obstacles together without losing passion or humor, and a modern family, torn by conflicts and united, despite everything, by affection and the decision to move forward. This is the family we discovered in Paula and that descends from the characters of The House of the Spirits. A work that is both emotional and written in the ironic and passionate tone that characterizes the author, in which she delivers the sum of her days as a woman and writer.
