«La ternura de un Padre» is a collection of Pope Francis's catecheses, published by Editorial Ciudad Nueva in paperback (320 pages, in Spanish).
It gathers the catecheses and jubilee audiences of Pope Francis during the Holy Year of Mercy, with passages from the Old Testament and the Gospels. It deals with God's mercy and his Father's heart, linking it with justice, poverty, light, communion and dialogue, and updates the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
First edition published on December 23, 2016, in the Raíces de la fe collection. Text in Spanish, original in Italian.
Work for readers interested in Pope Francis's teaching and Catholic spirituality.
Pope Francis was head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City from 13 March 2013 until his death in 2025. He was the first Jesuit pope, the first Latin American, and the first pope born or raised outside Europe since the 8th-century Syrian pope Gregory III.
