«La venganza de Don Mendo» is the verse play by Pedro Muñoz Seca, published in paperback (126 pages, in Spanish).
A caricature of a tragedy in four acts, written in verse and premiered at the Teatro de la Comedia in 1918. It parodies historical dramas and combines a humorous revenge plot with a tour of nearly all the meters and stanza forms of Castilian poetry, a hallmark of the astracán created by Pedro Muñoz Seca.
Edition published in 1994 that also includes the surviving pages of «El pendón de Don Fruela», an unpublished work parodying a historical drama.
For readers interested in classical Spanish theater, verse poetry and parodic humor.
