«La viuda embarazada» is the contemporary fiction novel by Martin Amis, published by Editorial Anagrama in paperback (504 pages, in Spanish).
Summer 1970. Keith Nearing, a twenty-year-old young man, spends a vacation in an Italian castle with his girlfriend Lily and a group of friends, in the midst of the sexual revolution. Between swims, readings and amorous games, Keith tries to seduce Scheherazade, Lily's attractive friend, while the old social order wavers and feminism emerges. The novel portrays these changes with Martin Amis's characteristic prose.
Translation by Jesús Zulaika Goicoechea of the English original The Pregnant Widow. Belongs to the Panorama de narrativas collection, number 768.
For readers of contemporary literary fiction interested in British narrative and the social changes of the 1970s.
