«L'absolue perfection du crime» is the novel by Tanguy Viel, published by Éditions de Minuit in 2006, in paperback (175 pages, in French).
A heist novel in which a group of small-time mobsters prepares to rob a casino: leaving prison, planning the job, and escaping with the loot in a remote-controlled balloon. Viel embraces the clichés of genre cinema and turns them into a story of weary antiheroes who let themselves be caught up in their own dreams.
This edition belongs to the Double collection from Minuit. The work originally appeared in 2001 and the cover reproduces a photograph of an industrial port.
A novel aimed at crime fiction readers and cinephiles who appreciate literary reworkings of heist movies.
