«Ladrón de almas» is the historical and forensic suspense novel by Ann Benson, published by Debolsillo in paperback (672 pages, in Spanish).
In 1440, in Nantes, Abbess Guillemette investigates the disappearance of children who may have died at the hands of the knight Gilles de Rais. In 2002, in Los Angeles, police officer Lanny Dubar follows a case of kidnappings with unsettling parallels. The plot interweaves both eras through history and forensic science.
Work originally published as «Thief of Souls» (2002), with Spanish translation by Alberto Coscarelli Guaschino; this Debolsillo edition appeared in 2004.
For readers of historical suspense and mystery, especially those who enjoy forensic plots connecting the medieval past and the present.
