«L'agulla daurada» is the travel book and personal chronicle by Montserrat Roig, published by Edicions 62 in paperback (235 pages, in Catalan).
In 1980, Montserrat Roig traveled to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) on commission from Edicions Progrés in Moscow to write about the siege suffered by the city during the Second World War. There she interviewed survivors of the blockade and was fascinated by the city; from that experience this travel book and personal chronicle was born.
The work was awarded the Premi de Literatura Catalana de la Generalitat de Catalunya in 1986; this edition is from 1987.
Recommended for readers of Catalan literature and those interested in the historical memory of the Second World War and in travel literature.
