«Lan Plays: 1» is David Lan's volume of plays, published by Methuen Drama in paperback (304 pages, in English).
The volume brings together five plays: Painting a Wall, Red Earth, Flight, Desire and The Ends of the Earth. These pieces explore the human condition and distant worlds that move the spectator; Red Earth condenses seventy years of South African history, and the collection stands out for its poetic language.
First installment of the Contemporary Dramatists series; includes an introduction by Stephen Daldry and a preface by the author.
Will appeal to theatre students, fans of contemporary British playwriting and performing arts professionals.
