«L'année de Jeanne» is the political speculative novel by Franck Ferrand, published by PLON in paperback (288 pages, in French).
A friend and adviser to the protagonist recounts how Jeanne-Antide Aubier, a young woman from New Caledonia, bursts into France in 2025-2026, on the brink of disintegration due to the threat of Strasbourg's secession. Her brave words and gestures restore the president's confidence and prevent the country's rupture: a contemporary transposition of the epic of Joan of Arc.
The book was originally published on October 1, 2020 and its cover bears the subtitle «Conte politique / C'était en 2023».
For readers of political and speculative fiction who enjoy contemporary reinterpretations of historical episodes.
