«Lanzarote et autres textes» is the collection of stories and texts by Michel Houellebecq published by J'ai lu in 2002 in paperback (96 pages, in French).
The volume brings together the title story, a first-person trip to the island of Lanzarote during a vacation marked by sex, sun and boredom, where the narrator observes other tourists with irony and reflects on his own disillusionment. The work is completed by five other texts, four of them previously unpublished, with the author's characteristic acidic and melancholic gaze on literature, progress, love relationships and the end of the century.
French-language edition from the Librio collection, in the «Texte intégral» series.
