«Largas filas de gente rara» is the short story collection by Luis Jorge Boone, published by Fondo de Cultura Económica in paperback (119 pages, in Spanish).
A copy editor discovers that the crimes in the novel he is reviewing are real; a ghostwriter and a pyromaniac share a destructive love; a budding narrator suffers writer's block. Boone portrays those who hover around writing, fascinated by the creator's glory but alien to the craft, amid fears, fragility, and disenchantment.
Originally published in 2012, it is part of the Letras Mexicanas series from Fondo de Cultura Económica.
Work for readers of short fiction interested in contemporary Mexican short stories and tales about the literary world.
