«Las aventuras del valiente soldado Svejk» is the satirical novel by Jaroslav Hasek, published by Books4pocket in paperback (288 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows Svejk, a Czech soldier in World War I, in his encounters with military bureaucracy. His extreme obedience turns every order into an absurdity and highlights the irrationality of the conflict. It is a satire where the protagonist's supposed simplicity disarms judges, doctors, and officers.
The translation is by Luz Monteagudo; the original Czech, «Osudy dobrého vojáka Švejka za světové války», was published in 1921. This Spanish edition appeared in 2009.
A classic of Czech literature for those who enjoy satire, absurd humor, and stories set in World War I.

Jaroslav Hašek was a Czech writer, humorist, satirist, journalist, bohemian, first anarchist and then communist, and commissar of the Red Army against the Czechoslovak Legion. He is best known for his novel The Fateful Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk During the World War, an unfinished novel about a soldier in World War I and a satire on the ineptitude of authority figures. The novel has been translated into about 60 languages, making it the most translated novel in Czech literature.
