The son of one of the Spaniards who fought alongside Hernán Cortés and a Mexican Indian woman, young Miguel Villacé Yólotl embarks on three adventures through the Americas in the mid-16th century. Each journey takes him to unique landscapes and moments of the Conquest, facing strange and fantastic adventures that seem pulled from the pages of the Chronicles of the Indies. Battles, intrigue, diverse indigenous cultures, and landscapes where nature imposes its brutal force help the protagonist mature as he finds ways to survive the threats of life. José María Gallego provides color illustrations for this masterful tale in which José María Merino pays tribute to a moment in history when Spain and America walked hand in hand. This trilogy, which brings together 'El oro de los sueños', 'La tierra del tiempo perdido', and 'Las lágrimas del sol', has become a classic of contemporary literature.
