«Las desventuras de Sophie» is the young adult novel by Valérie Dayre, published by EDICIONES SM in paperback (140 pages, in Spanish).
As an adult, Sophie receives a question from her son that forces her to recall the summer when, as a child, she stayed with her aunt Cora and her cousins. Her admiration for that family prevents her from seeing the cruelty around her, until she herself becomes the target. A look at moral harassment from the victim's experience.
Part of the El Barco de Vapor Roja collection, number 173. Translated from French by Isabelle Marc Martínez, with illustrations by Javier Argul Arias.
Recommended for readers aged 10 to 14, especially for those seeking realistic stories about family relationships, self-esteem, and empathy.
