«Las falsificaciones de la historia» is the historical essay by Julio Caro Baroja, published by Editorial Seix Barral in paperback (213 pages, in Spanish).
The essay addresses famous forgeries in the political and religious history of Spain. It analyzes cases such as those of Annio de Viterbo, Jerónimo Román de la Higuera and Lupián Zapata, and the controversies over apocryphal saints' lives, showing how they forged a «historia falsa de España» of long-lasting influence.
Subtitled «en relación con la de España», it belongs to the Biblioteca Breve collection from Seix Barral; first edition 1992.
For readers interested in the history of Spain and in the critique of historical sources.
