«Las mocedades de Ulises» is Álvaro Cunqueiro's mythological novel, published by Bibliotex in hardcover (222 pages, in Spanish).
The work imagines Ulysses' youth before the events of the Odyssey, drawing on Homer and ancient Greek culture. Cunqueiro combines myth, folk traditions and fantasy with a lyrical, epic prose of popular tone, in which content and form advance in harmony.
The novel originally appeared in 1960. This edition is from 2001, number 45 of the Biblioteca El Mundo collection, with a prologue by Suso del Toro.
For readers of 20th-century Spanish fiction and literary versions of classical mythology.
