«Las raíces del mal» is the crime novel by Roberto Costantini, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (635 pages, in Spanish).
Commissioner Michele Balistreri drowns his failures in Rome in alcohol and gambling while investigating the death of a student and protecting the star Claudia Teodori. The root of his wounds lies in the Libya of the 1960s: the death of his mother, the tragedy of his best friend's family, and his father's role in Gaddafi's rise.
Second installment of the Trilogía del Mal; the original Italian title, «Alle radici del male», was first published in 2012.
For crime novel readers who want to learn about Commissioner Balistreri's origins, before the events narrated in «Tú eres el mal».
