Un samurái, al intentar saciar su sed, traga accidentalmente un fantasma y queda maldito. La leyenda cuenta que el espíritu regresará en unos días para cobrarse su venganza. Esta historia se basa en un relato inconcluso de 1904 escrito por Lafcadio Hearn en su obra 'Kwaïdan', titulado 'In a cup of tea'. En esta edición, tres autores franceses contemporáneos imaginan y desarrollan finales posibles para este misterioso relato japonés.
