«Le grand méchant doux» is Hervé Bazin's collection of short stories, published by Grasset in paperback (182 pages, in French).
The book brings together eight very varied stories in which humor and irony combine with a gentle ferocity. Each story is independent, but all share a recognizable tone: joy appears alongside mockery and sharp observation of everyday life.
It is Hervé Bazin's third collection of short stories, after «Le bureau des mariages» and «Chapeau bas»; the work was published on October 7, 1992.
For readers of contemporary French fiction and of stories with humor and irony.
Hervé Bazin was a French writer, whose best-known novels covered semi-autobiographical topics of teenage rebellion and dysfunctional families.
