«Le grand sommeil» is the mystery comic by Yvan Pommaux, published by L'École des loisirs in paperback (40 pages, in French).
Detective John Chatterton must watch over a young woman who, according to the notice, might prick herself with a spindle and fall into «Le Grand Sommeil». The clues he finds —a red ribbon, belt and button— lead him to a ferocious wolf. The story parodies Sleeping Beauty while recreating the atmosphere of detective movies.
The subtitle is «Une enquête de John Chatterton» and it belongs to the John Chatterton series. The work was originally published in 1998.
Suitable for early comic readers and for adults who appreciate nods to film noir.
