«Le nombril» is a children's book by Gilles Baum, illustrated by Sébastien Chebret, published by Frimousse in hardcover (29 pages, in French).
A little king arrives at the Emperor's palace with an offering and triggers an unexpected situation. Through an ironic fable, the story speaks of selfishness and power, with a nod to today's selfie culture. The illustrations, drawn like a puzzle and full of detail, accompany the narrative and reinforce its humorous tone.
The record notes its publication on October 15, 2020 and classifies it under Children's and Young Adult.
Recommended for children aged 3 and up, it also works as shared family reading and may appeal to adults for its irony.
