«Le Passage secret» is Janet Lunn's children's time-travel novel, published by Père Castor in paperback (384 pages, in French).
Rose, a twelve-year-old girl, is sent to live with her aunt Nan and her husband, whom she does not know, in an old house in Ontario. Going down to the cellar, she discovers a passage that transports her to the 1860s, in the midst of the Civil War, where she befriends Will and Susan and takes part in adventures that help her understand her place in that family.
French translation of The Root Cellar, a work originally published in 1981; it belongs to the Castor Poche collection (no. 168).
For child and young adult readers, with a plot of mystery, history and fantasy.
