«Le Petit Nicolas» is the children's storybook by René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé, published by Folio in paperback (156 pages, in French).
The stories follow Nicolas, a mischievous and well-meaning boy, and his classmates, in everyday scrapes at school and home. The child protagonist's perspective turns situations like the inspector's visit, the class photo, or misunderstandings with adults into comedy.
First volume of the «Le Petit Nicolas» series; number 423 in the Folio collection.
Suitable for readers aged 8 to 12 and for students of French.

René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who created the Asterix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series Lucky Luke.
