«Le Premier Exil» is the autobiographical account by Santiago H. Amigorena, published by Folio in paperback (294 pages, in French).
Santiago H. Amigorena recalls his childhood in Uruguay, marked by the oppressive climate of South American military dictatorships and by the silence of a boy who responds to the world through writing. A continuation of his autobiographical project, the account includes school bullying and the friendship of a classmate who recognizes in that writing his way of speaking.
«Le Premier Exil» continues the autobiographical project begun with «Le Ghetto intérieur». The French edition was published by Folio in August 2023.
«Le Premier Exil» is for readers of contemporary literature interested in historical memory, exile and writing as resistance.
Santiago Amigorena is an Argentine screenwriter, film producer, film director and writer.
