«Le premier jour après moi» is the novel by Jacques Attali, published by LGF/Le Livre de Poche in paperback format (122 pages, in French).
Julien Clavier, a fifty-year-old man, dies one December morning and, from an invisible and floating condition, witnesses the reactions of those around him: his lover Sarah finds him lifeless and, instead of calling a doctor, hurries to remove the sleeping pills he had taken. The fantastic tale turns into a police intrigue in which ambition, love and destiny are questioned.
It is Jacques Attali's second work of fiction, after «La Vie éternelle» (1989), awarded the Grand Prix du roman de la Société des Gens de Lettres.
Jacques José Mardoché Attali is a French economic and social theorist, writer, political adviser and senior civil servant.
